The monograph by Yura Konstantinova, The Bulgarians in the Ottoman Salonica, IBST, 2020 is the first comprehensive study of the participation of the Bulgarians in the political, economic and social life of the Ottoman Salonica. The text is organized thematically, and the themes are treated chronologically as far as possible. Chapter 1 deals mainly with the demographics of the Bulgarian community in Salonica, its organization and social life. Chapter 2 is devoted to the Bulgarian education in the city and presents both the education in primary and secondary schools, as well as the participation of Bulgarians in non-Bulgarian educational institutions. Chapter 3 deals with the Bulgarian participation in the public and political life of Salonica. Emphasis is put on the place and importance of the Bulgarian appearances in relation to the initiatives of other religious and national groups in the city. The last paragraph examines the Bulgarian conception of Salonica and its place in the collective and historical memory of our nation.

The collective monograph entitled 911���� and the Bulgarians: History, Memory, Present features the Bulgarians in 911���� and their links to the large Aegean port. It combines texts by twenty-two Bulgarian, Greek and Turkish scholars, who rely on hither to unused sources to reveal unknown facts and offer new issues and different perspectives to the topic. Arranged chronologically in four thematic sections, the studies highlight the Bulgarians among the motley variety in the Mediterranean city and render its diversity complete, vivid, authentic.

This volume is the outcome of the project “911���� and the Bulgarians: History, Memory, Present”, supported by the Scientific Research Fund at the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science (Contract No. DN 10/13 of 17.12.2016), made through the joint efforts of the Institute of Balkan Studies & Centre of Thracology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, and Archives State Agency (Supplementary Agreement No. 1 of 31.03.2017).

Благодарение на научната публикация на Юра Константинова и Йордан Желев, Българите в Солун според екзархийското преброяване от 1907 година. - Известия на държавните архиви, т. 115-116/2018, с. 330 - 509 всеки желаещ вече може да направи справка за българските семейства, живели в голямото егейско пристанице в началото на ХХ в. Студията прави научно и обществено достояние информацията за българите – жители на град Солун, запазена в енорийските регистри (от типа Libri status animarum) на припозналото духовната юрисдикция на Българската екзархия в Цариград източноправославно българско християнско население. Тези регистри, съставени от действащите български енорийски свещеници в Солун Георги Мандичев, Христо поп Георгиев, Христо Шумаров и Димитър Амов през 1907 г., съдържат информация за 841 домакинства (семейства) или общо 3275 души българи-екзархисти.
